“Wolves” is a song by American singer Selena Gomez and electronic dance music producer and DJ Marshmello. It was written by Gomez, Ali Tamposi, Louis Bell, Brian Lee, Carl Rosen, Marshmello and Andrew Watt, with production handled by the latter two. The song was released on October 25, 2017, through Interscope Records.
“Wolves” is about the journey to finding love. It’s the third single Selena’s released in 2017, following her 2015 album ‘Revival.’
The lyrics to the single were previewed a day before the release on the 24th of October on the official website of Selena.
“Wolves” is Gomez’s second EDM collaboration of 2017, following her song with producer Kygo, “It Ain’t Me,” which hit No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in May 2017.
This was a song that I heard in Japan for the first time, and I was talking to Andrew Watt who is one of the writers I worked with for years, and he actually just played me a rough version and I thought it was really beautiful, and he sent it to Marshmello and created a really cool tone and a story with it, and the song is very beautiful and personal and the lyrics just have a whole story of its own. Weirdly, at the same time, I was working on it in Japan, I was going through stuff, too, so it’s mirrored everything.
